The most common Everett bail question we hear isn't "how much?" It's "where is he?" Snohomish County's jail register now covers three different jails, and families regularly drive to Oakes Avenue only to learn their person is in Lynnwood. This guide starts where the confusion starts, then covers how to pay when you can't get downtown, and which court will handle the case.
QUICK ANSWER
How do I bail someone out in Everett?
Search the Snohomish County Jail Register and check the housing location, since it covers the Everett corrections center plus the Lynnwood and Marysville municipal jails. For the Everett jail, post bail at the inmate account window at 3025 Oakes Avenue (7 AM to 10 PM daily) with cash, a cashier's check payable to "Snohomish County Bail Fund," or a bond. Or pay cash bail by card 24/7 through GovPayNet at 1-877-EZBAIL5, with a 7 percent fee. Release can take up to 6 hours after bail is posted.
Step One: Figure Out Which Jail They're Actually In
Search the Snohomish County Jail Register by last name, then look at the housing location on their entry before you do anything else. There are three possibilities.
COUNTY JAIL
Snohomish County Corrections Center
3025 Oakes Avenue, Everett. Most Everett-area bookings. Phone (425) 388-3395.
MUNICIPAL JAIL
Lynnwood Jail
Common for South Snohomish County arrests. Contact this jail directly for its bail process.
MUNICIPAL JAIL
Marysville Jail
Common for North County arrests. Contact this jail directly for its bail process.
Everything else in this guide about windows, hours, and GovPayNet applies to the county jail on Oakes Avenue. The Lynnwood and Marysville jails run their own bail and visitation procedures. If your loved one isn't on the register yet, don't panic. Booking takes hours, and new arrests often don't appear right away.
Paying Bail When You Can't Get to Oakes Avenue
This is where Everett is friendlier than most Washington counties. You have a genuine option that doesn't involve driving downtown.
7 AM TO 10 PM DAILY
In person at the window
Inmate account window, east end of the jail lobby, 3025 Oakes Avenue. Cash, cashier's check payable to "Snohomish County Bail Fund," or a bond. Bring photo ID and the booking number.
24 HOURS A DAY
By card through GovPayNet
Online or by phone at 1-877-EZBAIL5, using a credit, debit, or prepaid debit card. There's a 7 percent service fee, and some card issuers treat it as a cash advance with extra charges.
If the bail amount is more than you can put on a card or pay in cash, a licensed bail bondsman posts the full amount for a fee set under Washington law. For the complete payment table and release details, see our Snohomish County Jail bail guide.
⚠ SNOHOMISH COUNTY SCAM WARNING
The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office has warned families that scammers use the public jail register to find real inmates, then call relatives demanding money for bail, home monitoring, or treatment. The Sheriff's Office never calls asking for money, never accepts Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal, and never asks you to pay at an offsite check cashing location. If you get that call, hang up and dial the jail yourself at (425) 388-3395.
Which Downtown Court Has the Case?
Everett's courts sit a few blocks from the jail, split across two addresses.
Snohomish County Superior Court
FELONIES
Snohomish County Courthouse campus, 3000 Rockefeller Avenue. The County Clerk's office is on the second floor of the Mission Building at the same address.
Snohomish County District Court, Everett Division
COUNTY MISDEMEANORS, TRAFFIC, SMALL CLAIMS, DV PROTECTION ORDERS
3000 Rockefeller Avenue, Mission Building. Phone (425) 388-3331. This division also handles municipal court cases for Mukilteo, other than traffic violations.
Everett Municipal Court
EVERETT CITY ORDINANCE VIOLATIONS
3028 Wetmore Avenue. Phone (425) 257-8778. Public hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to noon and 1 to 4:30 PM, except holidays.
HEADS UP: EVERETT MUNICIPAL COURT IS CHANGING SYSTEMS
As of late September 2026, Everett Municipal Court is moving to a new case management system. The court is scheduled to be closed to the public from 1:00 to 4:30 PM on Friday, October 2, 2026, and electronic filing becomes mandatory on October 14, 2026. If your loved one has a matter there, confirm dates and filing requirements with their attorney or the court directly, and expect some transition hiccups.
What the First Day Looks Like
Booking at the corrections center takes a few hours. Minor offenses may have bail set by schedule quickly. Serious charges get bail set by a judge at a first appearance on the next court day, which means a Friday night or weekend arrest usually waits until Monday. Domestic violence arrests carry an additional hold before bail can be set. Once bail is posted, the Sheriff's Office says release can take up to 6 hours. Our guide to the first 24 hours after an arrest walks through the whole stretch.
Why a Local Bondsman Helps in Everett
Three jails, two court addresses, a card-payment option with fees, and a court mid-transition: Everett has more moving parts than it looks. A bondsman who works Snohomish County every day knows which jail a given arrest usually lands in, when GovPayNet makes sense versus a bond, and how to read the case number to find the right court. All City Bail Bonds has served Everett and Snohomish County for over 30 years, from downtown and Silver Lake to Mukilteo, Lynnwood, Marysville, Edmonds, and Snohomish.
After Release
Your loved one will leave with a court date and conditions of release, which are court orders. Common ones include no contact with alleged victims, no alcohol or drugs, and check-ins. Our guide to conditions of release in Washington covers what's typical, and our defendant's guide to the first week on bail is written for the person who was released.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can't I find my loved one at the Everett jail?
The Snohomish County Jail Register covers three facilities: the corrections center in Everett, the Lynnwood municipal jail, and the Marysville municipal jail. Check the housing location on their entry. If they're at Lynnwood or Marysville, contact that jail directly, since its procedures differ. New arrests can also take hours to appear.
Can I pay bail in Everett without going to the jail?
Yes. Cash bail can be paid by credit, debit, or prepaid debit card through GovPayNet, online or at 1-877-EZBAIL5, 24 hours a day, with a 7 percent fee. In person, the window at 3025 Oakes Avenue takes cash, cashier's checks payable to Snohomish County Bail Fund, or a bond, 7 AM to 10 PM daily.
Which court handles an Everett arrest?
Felonies go to Snohomish County Superior Court and county misdemeanors to District Court, Everett Division, both at 3000 Rockefeller Avenue. Everett city violations go to Everett Municipal Court at 3028 Wetmore Avenue. The Everett Division also handles Mukilteo's municipal cases, other than traffic.
Will the Snohomish County Sheriff ever call me asking for bail money?
No. The Sheriff's Office never calls asking for money on behalf of an inmate, doesn't accept Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal, and never asks for payment at an offsite check cashing location. That call is a scam. Hang up and call the jail at (425) 388-3395.
How long does release take after bail is posted in Everett?
The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office says release can take up to 6 hours after bail is posted, depending on the day, the time, and how many other releases are pending.
